We also celebrated anti-bullying week in school last week and we focused on the theme of friendship. The children discussed what made a good friend and how can we care for our friends and for others. The most frequent word that kept popping up in every conversation about anti-bullying and friendship was inclusion. The children gave fantastic examples of how they would include someone in their games or chats at break times. Inclusion is extremely important here in Caherdaniel N.S and the children all recognised its significance. Out on the yard the children are exceptionally good to include everyone in their games and if they notice someone on their own they will go over and talk to them.
On Friday we concluded Anti-bullying week by hosting a friendship café. The children were allowed to bring in treats from home and share them with their classmates and they even shared with their teachers! All the children made a great effort and really enjoyed the friendship café!
