On February 2nd, Caherdaniel NS joyfully celebrated Grandparents’ Day as part of Catholic Schools Week, highlighting the invaluable role grandparents play within our families and community. The day was an opportunity for students to show their appreciation and strengthen the cherished bond they share with their grandparents.
The school buzzed with excitement as pupils in all classes prepared special performances, including songs, tunes and dances, as a tribute to their grandparents. These performances showcased the deep connection between generations, making it a memorable day for everyone involved.
Classrooms became hubs of intergenerational interaction, with grandparents and grandchildren engaging in various activities together. From sharing stories to examining rich display boards, these moments allowed for meaningful exchanges and created lasting memories.
As the day concluded, it was clear that Grandparents’ Day had achieved its goal: to honour the special place grandparents hold in our hearts and in the fabric of our community. It was a celebration of family, love, and the intergenerational bonds that make our community so strong.
A big thank you to all who contributed refreshments and the parents who helped out with serving and set up on the day.
