St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the Junior Room ’23

Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh go léir! The Junior room and the whole school were very busy celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge and St. Patrick this week. On Thursday we had a lá glas where all the children wore green. There was also a Céilí in our new classroom where the children danced Shoe the Donkey, The Siege of Ennis, an Irish Waltz, An Dreoilín and a native Ukrainian dance performed by some of the pupils from Ukraine. The Junior room also performed two poems “Rollaí Pollaí” and “Gugalí Gug”. Some of the children also played a few traditional Irish music tunes too! Everyone made a great effort to dress up in green!

There were lots of shamrocks, Irish flags and Pots of Gold floating around our classroom. The children created some lovely artwork and the window of our classroom was full of their wonderful crafts! We are very much looking forward to going to various St. Patrick’s Day parades around the area and cannot wait to see all the shamrocks, leprechauns, pots of gold and floats!
