January in the Junior Room 2019

We have been very busy bees in the Junior Room with Ms. Treacy over the past few weeks. We have done lots of arts and crafts.

We made mini versions of ourselves. We used a template of a person and designed our outfits out of crepe paper. We even stuck our faces onto our mini people!

We are taking part in the green school flag. This years theme is water so we decided to create an underwater scene. We focused our lesson on ‘water is life’. We used glitter, sequins and crepe paper to make the sea creatures look 3D.

We learned about the Romans in history and we learned about the importance of gods and goddesses in their lives. So we decided to pick the god of the sun and create Roman mosaics of the sun using felt. The juniors and seniors completed paper plate sun mosaics with cut up paper.

We are learning about mindfulness and meditation. We took part in mindfulness coloring of footprints for our ‘We follow Jesus’ display. We also colored in St. Brigid Crosses.
